|
Beijing Municipal Commission of Ethnic Affairs has the following major responsibilities:
1. To carry out state principles, policies, laws and regulations concerning minority and religious affairs and supervise enforcement of these relevant policies. To be responsible for the publicity and education of the relevant policies.
2. To be responsible for the investigation and research of nationalities and religious affairs in Beijing, and draw up relevant local laws, regulations and policies.
3. To manage religious activities and protect the legal rights of religious groups, activities and places.
4. To work with various departments for the cultivation and promotion of cadres of ethnic groups and the liaison work with ethnic groups and people of religious circles.
5. To promote development of the economy, culture, education, sports and technology in the residential areas of ethnic groups and guarantee supply of their necessities.
6. To undertake other relevant assignments from Beijing Municipal Government.
