Beijing Miyun Development Area
The Development Area is planned to cover 16 km 2 and is an extension of the Zhongguancun Scientific and Technological Development Area. Currently, over 120 enterprises have settled in the Development Area. In addition, 16 universities--including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Chemical Industrial University, Posts and Telecommunications University, Beijing Aviation and Aeronautics University, Shanghai Communication University, Jilin Industrial University, Tianjin University and China Medical Science University-as well as many scientific research institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, PLA Military Science College and Photoelectrical Research Institute have set up high and new technological industrial bases in the Development Area. Others that have entered the Development Area include domestic famous enterprises such as Hengji Weiye, Aucma, Juneng Shiye, Ili, Guizhou Shenqi and Meidenggao.
The Development Area has completed construction of necessary infrastructural facilities.

The Development Area mainly develops hi-tech and new technological projects such as electronic information, bioengineering and environmental protection; processing projects that boost added value and export business; processing and assembling projects for electronic industry, automation and meters, light industry and machine building, auto parts, and digital control machine tools; and processing projects in the fields of foodstuff, beverage, packaging, printing, garments and textiles, and building materials.
